The theme park attraction “Merlows” is being used to give voice to mermaids in a movie.
Disney is using the popular Disney Merlits character as the voice of Merlons voice, but the Merliots are also singing in the film, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The movie’s producers have been in talks with Disney and Warner Bros. about the mermaid voice, the reporter said, citing people familiar with the discussions.
Warner Bros.’s production company is behind the film.
The film, which is due in theaters in 2018, stars Anna Kendrick, Ed Helms, Jessica Biel, Mark Ruffalo, Jada Pinkett Smith, James Corden, Olivia Wilde, Lily Tomlin, and the film’s main villain, Merl Williams.
